Currently Crushing On

Welcome to our new series ‘Currently Crushing On’. I’ll be updating you with my latest favs. This will include not only interiors but fashion as well. If you didn’t already know, these two go hand in hand. What happens in the fashion industry very often spills over into interiors through colour, texture and pattern.

I was surrounded with fashion growing up. My mother attended fashion school at Seneca College in Toronto and then later went on to owning her own clothing store for many years. I always loved when I’d get to go on buying trips with her. Seeing all the latest trends and colours for the upcoming season was so much fun and best of all, was trying on the clothing! Sometimes I’d even get to pick out a few pieces just for myself. Talk about being lucky!

I see the way clothing makes a person feel. When you’ve found the perfect pair of jeans to go with that perfect knit sweater, you feel amazing and want to show it off to all your friends. Now, think about how you feel in your home. Does your space make you feel the same way that your favourite outfit does?

Dress | Book | Purse | Sandal | Rug | Necklace | Blanket | Print | Pillow

Take a moment to look inside your closet. What do you see? Do you see more relaxed, comfortable pieces or do you see more tailored pieces. Are the colours and patterns more neutral and muted or are they vibrant and bold? This will give you a very good idea of what your interior design style is for your home by just taking a quick peek inside your closet!
